Carlo Spagnolo is professor of contemporary history at the University of Bari and Jean Monnet chair of the history and politics of European integration. He is member of the scientific committee of the Gramsci Foundation in Rome and of the board of the Journal Studi Storici. He has worked extensively on the Marshall plan and postwar recovery and is author inter alia of La Stabilizzazione Incompiuta: Il Piano Marshall e l’Italia (1947-1951), Roma: Carocci, 2001.
